The state company "Russian Post", which is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, has postponed indefinitely the launch of permanent routes for the delivery of goods by helicopter-type drones, two informed sources said. "Russian Post" itself did not comment on this information.
It is known that in 2024, as part of the "Unmanned Cargo Delivery" project, the state company was supposed to develop 7 drone flight routes in Yamal and 21 in Chukotka. At the same time, the circulation of parcel delivery drones could begin before the end of this year.
In 2021, "Russian Post" announced its planned cooperation with the drone manufacturer Aeromax. A test cargo delivery was carried out in the spring of 2023. The development of the route was entrusted to a drone developed by specialists from Russian Helicopters. Russian Post published a video on its YouTube channel with a delivery drone in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
