The "Cube" loitering munition, made according to the flying wing principle, will receive an increased warhead, said Alan Lushnikov, head of Kalashnikov.
According to him, the corresponding tests have already taken place, and they confirmed the calculations of the engineers. Lushnikov stressed that the request to increase the warhead came from Russian soldiers. Now, specialists are working to increase the flight range of the "Cube", as well as equip it with new navigation tools.
The kamikaze drone was first presented at the IDEX exhibition in the capital of the UAE in 2019. The "Cube" is designed to destroy remote ground targets with a warhead (payload weight is 3 kg). The drone can fly at speeds up to 130 km/h, flight duration is 30 minutes.
Earlier it was reported that the Kalashnikov plant launched a line for the production of parts for artillery shells. More than 70 machines were ordered for their manufacture.
