The first civilian supersonic aircraft will appear in Russia by the end of the decade. This was announced by specialists of the Siberian Aeronautical Research Institute (SibNIA) named after S.A. Chaplygin.
Scientists are currently working on solving key problems of high fuel consumption and high aerodynamic shock. The demonstrator will appear by 2028-2029.
Also, in SibNIA, research is underway on technologies for creating regional aircraft, rotor-wing aircraft of the new generation, short takeoff and landing aircraft.
