"Vienna" from "Motovilikhinskiye Zavody" has entered the Russian military balance only recently. It differs from "Nona", which was previously considered the most advanced development of this category, by its rapid-fire, speed, and control automation.
It can remember the coordinates of up to thirty enemy targets. An automated control system helps calculate the settings for shelling, topographic reference, and orientation.
A system of day and night optical-electronic intelligence and target designation, which is also connected to the onboard computer, empowers "Vienna" to work both day and night. The self-propelled gun fires at a speed of ten shots per minute at a distance of 13 kilometers.
In addition, "Vienna" is capable of being both a gun and a mortar: there are conventional projectiles, mines, and rocket-propelled shells in the set. It has command over 70 types of shells.
Versatility is among the qualities of not just this domestic self-propelled gun. Not so long ago, "Rostec" began the delivery of new 120-mm self-propelled guns "Phlox" to the Russian troops. "Phloxes" also rank among the most modern artillery systems in Russia and also combine the properties of a gun and a mortar.
