Starting October 28, the login rules for "Gosuslugi" are changing. Now, logging in using only a phone number, SNILS, or email address with a password will not be possible. Users will need two-factor authentication.
Russians are offered three options for additional protection:
- code from SMS;
- one-time code from a special application (TOTP);
- login using biometric data.
The Ministry of Digital Development notes that you can log in to "Gosuslugi" using the old method only once, in order to clarify your account information and select a second authentication factor in the "Security" section. The choice can be changed later.
Those who do not set up a second factor during this visit will see a banner with protection options the next time they log in to their account. You will not be able to use Gosuslugi until one of them is selected.
Users are also asked to carefully check whether the number they provided for SMS confirmation of login to the portal is up to date.
If a person forgets to change the number to which they do not have access, they will not be able to log in to "Gosuslugi". In this case, in order to replace the number with an up-to-date one, they will have to contact the nearest MFC or one of the partner banks of "Gosuslugi".
