New entrance rules for Gosuslugi - now only with two-factor authentication

The measures are being taken to enhance security and protection of personal data

The entrance rules for "Gosuslugi" are changing from October 28th. Now it won't be possible to enter just by phone number, SNILS or e-mail address with password. Users will need two-factor authentication.

Two-factor authentication is necessary to increase security and enhance personal data protection.

Russians are offered three options for additional protection:

  • SMS code;
  • one-time code from a special app (TOTR);
  • login with biometric data.

The Ministry of Digital Development notes that you can enter "Gosuslugi" the old way only once, to clarify your account details and select the second authentication factor in the "Security" section. You will be able to change your choice later.

Those who do not set up a second factor on this visit will see a banner with protection options the next time they log in. Until one of them is chosen, it will not be possible to use Gosuslugi.

Users are also asked to check whether the number they have provided for SMS confirmation of login is current.

If a person forgets to change the number to which they have no access, they will not be able to get to Gosuslugi. In this case, to replace the number with a current one, they will have to contact the nearest MFC or one of the Gosuslugi partner banks.
