Chinese Haval to start engine production in Tula region

Engines for Haval M6, Jolion and Dargo will be assembled in the Tula region

The well-known Chinese company Haval, established in 2013, (part of Great Wall Motor - ed. www1.ru) intends to start producing engines in the Tula region in early 2024, as stated by the CEO of «Haval Motor Rus» Andrei Akifiev.

According to him, the construction of the plant in the region is at the final stage. The discussion is about production capacities, which will be concentrated based on the existing plant of the Chinese brand in the Uzlovaya industrial park.

The enterprise will occupy more than 10 thousand sq. m of area, here it is planned to produce about 80 thousand cars a year. The Haval management hoped that the workshops located here would be able to produce engines to meet approximately 90% of the brand's cars rolling off the assembly line in Russia.

The implementation of the project has been delayed - the plant was supposed to go into operation last year. However, Haval is confident that the production line will be operational by the end of 2023.

Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation prepared a list of brands whose cars are recommended for purchase by departments for officials. The Chinese Haval was on the list. Now M6, Jolion and Dargo from Haval are presented on the Russian market.

It is known that the security agencies in the Moscow region have already started purchasing Haval. In particular, Haval Dargo crossovers have been spotted on the roads in the region.
