The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced amendments to the recycling fee payment mechanism in Russia.
It is noted that companies working with small-scale conversions and the production of special vehicles will pay less. They will be exempt from new financial costs if the recycling fee has already been paid for the basic vehicle or chassis that became the basis for their products.
The update will also affect cars imported into Russia for resale. If an individual paid the recycling fee at a preferential rate, then when reselling the car within 12 months, the buyer will need to pay the difference up to the full fee rate.
Previously, control over these provisions was under the jurisdiction of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation, but with the adoption of the amendments, the powers were transferred to the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.
