The Ministry of Industry and Trade announced amendments to the payment mechanism for the recycling fee in Russia.
It is noted that companies dealing with small-scale conversions and manufacturing of special vehicles will pay less. They will be exempt from new financial costs if the disposal fee has already been paid for the base vehicle or chassis that serves as the basis for their products.
The update will also apply to cars imported into Russia for resale. If an individual paid a recycling fee at a preferential rate, when reselling cars within 12 months, the buyer will need to pay additional sum to the full rate of the fee.
If previously the control over these provisions was in the jurisdiction of the Federal Tax Service of the Russian Federation, then with the adoption of the amendments, the powers were transferred to the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation.
