Russia will begin its own production of electronic vehicle stability control systems (ESC) in November 2023, Aleksey Vorobyov, General Director of NPP Itelma, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta. According to him, in December the production of products will be brought "to the nominal mode of operation".
From the beginning of 2024, production will operate at full capacity
The first Russian ESC will be installed on the Lada Vesta. It is also known that since the summer, NPP Itelma has been producing ABS - a system that prevents wheel lockup during braking.
ESC refers to the active safety system of the car, it prevents skidding due to the fact that the computer controls the moment of force of the wheel. The development of domestic ABS and ESC is carried out within the framework of the import substitution and localization program of production.
Earlier it was reported that NPP "Itelma" will also start producing printed circuit boards of the 6th class of accuracy.
