The Russian company NPP Itelma plans to invest about 2 billion rubles in launching the production of 6th class precision printed circuit boards (used in portable electronics - editor's note www1.ru), which is scheduled for 2025-2026. The production line capacity will be 15 million square decimeters of boards per year. This is reported by Kommersant.
According to a representative of NPP Itelma, work is currently underway to design the line and select equipment. The company expects that half of the produced volume of boards will be sold on the market, and the rest will remain for its own needs.
From 2026, the Russian authorities intend to tighten the requirements for the localization of electronic control units (ECU) of the car. The unit will be considered Russian only if domestic components were used, including boards.
Experts estimate the ECU market volume in 2022 at up to 40 billion rubles, while the need for boards is 4 million square decimeters. In a few years, this figure may increase to 10 square decimeters.
Currently, many companies purchase boards from Asian manufacturers, but are interested in the possibility of purchasing from Russian companies. The country produces about 20 million square decimeters of boards, most of which go to military needs.
