A court in Moscow has registered 12 protocols on administrative offenses against foreign companies that have not localized data about Russian users on the territory of the Russian Federation. These include Google, Spotify, Airbnb, Ookla.
Some of the companies are being held liable for repeated refusal to host user data in Russian data centers. Violators face fines ranging from 6 to 18 million rubles. Hearings on these cases are scheduled for October 16 and November 9.
According to Roskomnadzor, about 600 foreign companies have localized data of users from the Russian Federation. These include such giants as Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, LG.
