A court in Moscow has registered 12 administrative infraction protocols against foreign companies that have failed to localize Russian user data within the Russian Federation. The list includes Google, Spotify, Airbnb, Ookla.
Some of the companies are being held accountable for repeatedly refusing to place user data in Russian data centers. Violators are threatened with fines ranging from 6 to 18 million rubles. The hearings for these cases are scheduled for October 16 and November 9.
According to the Roskomnadzor data, approximately 600 foreign companies have localized the data of users from the Russian Federation. This list includes such giants as Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, LG.
