New KamAZ "Shuttle" Unmanned Truck Is Coming Soon: Its Logo Has Been Patented

The cabless unmanned electric vehicle can even be controlled from a mobile phone

KamAZ has patented a graphic solution for the new logo for the KAMAZ Shuttle project. This was reported by the Telegram channel "Avtopotok."

This means that the automaker's serial line of trucks will soon be supplemented by the unmanned cabless electric truck "Shuttle."

The concern presented the development with the serial number KAMAZ-3373 in 2020, having received a patent for it.

The truck was developed for intra-factory transportation and closed roads, but in the future, its other use is not excluded.

The "Shuttle" does not have a cab and is cheaper than its counterparts with a cab, due to savings on its parts and assembly. Instead of a driver, it only needs an operator at a computer or with a mobile phone, who will send the task and monitor its implementation.

The truck is completely autonomous and can move around the clock. Orientation in space occurs through a navigation system and a complex of sensory equipment: 2D and 3D lidars, ultrasonic sensors, wide-angle and narrow-angle cameras. They are duplicated in case any of the devices fail.

The truck's chassis is all-wheel drive, driven by a synchronous electric motor with permanent magnets with vector control. The maximum speed of the "smart carrier" is low for safety reasons: 40 km/h. If necessary, the truck can move in reverse at the same speed.

The length and width of the "Shuttle" are 8 meters and 2.55 meters, respectively. It is 4 meters high. It weighs 18 tons, and its carrying capacity is up to 10 tons. It is noteworthy that the loading and unloading of the "Shuttle" can occur from two sides simultaneously.

This is not the only development of the auto concern in the direction of developing unmanned transport with an eco-component. The new unmanned dump truck "Jupiter 30" with a hybrid engine will soon go to the quarries of the Kemerovo region.
