The Production and Port Complex "Port Kolomna" has begun building the first floating clinic in Russia. The medical river vessel was ordered for the needs of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra by the leadership of this region.
According to the press service of the complex, the vessel with a displacement of 650 tons has modest dimensions: 65 m in length and 1.8 m in width. It has a small draft of 1.3 m and develops a maximum speed of up to 24 km/h. It is capable of traveling up to 500 km per day. Among the characteristics of the medical vessel is a small ice reinforcement.
The vessel requires 12 crew members to operate. It is assumed that the medical staff of the floating clinic will be 25 people, and the vessel will be able to accommodate another 50 people simultaneously as visitors (not counting the crew and medical personnel). The supply of provisions on board will need to be replenished every thirty days.
Under the terms of the concluded state contract, the vessel must be handed over to the customer by September 30, 2025. It must reach its place of work from the place of construction on its own, including along the Northern Sea Route.
