Detailed technical characteristics of the first Russian Arctic bus from the Ural Automobile Plant, SUSU and MSTU named after N.E. Bauman have become known. Representatives of Ural, presenting the new product, said that up to 350 such vehicles would be produced per year for the needs of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Education and Science and other ministries and departments of Russia.

The Arctic bus "Arctic" is undergoing testing and will be launched into production in 2024.

It can accommodate up to 22 passengers, each of whom has their own table, USB socket and wireless charging for a smartphone. Climate control is installed throughout the cabin with air distribution along the rows of seats. Transportation between settlements in the Far North can be lengthy, so a toilet is provided in the bus.

The "Arctic" travels on wide-profile wheels with low pressure on the supporting surface (up to 0.45 kgf/cm2). Its "heart" is a 6-cylinder turbo diesel with a capacity of 310 hp, and the transmission is 6x6 with a 9-speed manual transmission and a reduction gear.

The bus body is installed on the frame through vibration isolators, it has several layers. The fuel system is protected by electric heating, and the braking system has a cylinder for separating condensate and discharging it.
