Gagarin Aviation Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, which is part of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), has handed over the next series of Su-57 (fifth generation) and Su-35S (4++ generation) aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defense, said the head of Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.
According to the minister, domestic aviation factories are "picking up good production pace", supplying the Russian Aerospace Forces with equipment as part of the state defense order. Manturov added that the next aircraft delivery is expected by the end of 2023.
The head of the UAC, Yuri Slyusar, clarified that the Su-57s, which are to be handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense this year, are in the final assembly shop and will then be sent to the flight test station. The next series of Su-35S is also in a high state of readiness, he concluded.
