"Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus" is perhaps the only currently idle plant among the largest automotive enterprises in Russia. For example, the former Russian plants of Volkswagen and Nissan have already found new owners and are planning to resume conveyor operations (not to mention the Renault plant, which is in full swing producing "Moskvich"), while Hyundai is standing still. But it won't be idle for long: according to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Denis Manturov, a new owner for the enterprise has already been found.
We already have all the decisions formed regarding the acquisition of Hyundai. At least, what was stated directly by the company itself. Therefore, a decision will be made in the near future. The buyer will be a domestic company.
Who will buy such a large plant (after all, simply buying is not difficult, you also need to have a plan to load capacities of more than 200 thousand cars per year) is still unknown. Previously, the Kaliningrad "Avtotor" was interested in Hyundai's Russian assets. It now produces BAIC, Kaiyi, SWM passenger cars (and until March 2022, "Avtotor" produced BMW and Hyundai/Kia cars).
As a reminder, until March 2022, the super popular Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio sedans in the country, as well as the raised Kia Rio X-Line hatchback and the Hyundai Creta crossover, rolled off the assembly line of the Russian Hyundai plant.
