Sales of the BAIC X55 crossover, which was previously launched at the Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad, have begun in Russia. The car is offered in two trim levels, Comfort and Elite, with prices of 2 million 755 thousand rubles and 2 million 999 thousand rubles, respectively.
Both versions are equipped with a 1.5-liter engine with a capacity of 178 hp, which works in tandem with a 7-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches. The car accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds.
BAIC X55's exterior features include a frameless radiator grille, a split rear spoiler, and hidden door handles. The car also received a panoramic roof, fully LED lighting equipment, and a two-tone body color with a floating roof effect.
The interior is equipped with front seats with heating, ventilation and electric lumbar support adjustment, a digital instrument panel with a 10-inch screen, and a media system with a 10.25-inch screen. There is also a surround view system, an automatic emergency braking system, adaptive cruise control, a lane keeping assistant, and an automatic parking system.
BAIC X55 has become the fourth model of the brand produced in Russia. Prior to this, the BAIC X35 crossover, the U5 plus sedan, and the BJ40 Plus frame SUV were put on the Avtotor conveyor.
