The modern fifth-generation fighter Su-57, which has already proven itself successful, will soon be equipped with new aviation missiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 300 km — according to TASS, an unnamed source in the defense-industrial complex reported.
According to the source of the agency, already now, Su-57 shows high efficiency in hitting targets, albeit equipped with missiles with a range of up to 120 km. In the near future, new aviation missiles are expected to be introduced, allowing strikes at a distance of up to 300 km. The huge advantage of the fighter is its low observability, making it an effective tool across different combat scenarios.
In early August, it became known that GosMKB Vympel created advanced short-range fifth-generation missiles (RVV-MD2) for Su-57. In Russia, they were developed and tested in the shortest possible time. Later, the fighter received a cutting-edge digital communications complex, which includes devices for error-resistant encoding and decoding of data, a satellite navigation signal receiver, and a digital signal processing bus.
The Su-57, or Felon according to NATO codification, is a multifunctional fifth-generation fighter developed in Russia. Its capabilities include destroying various types of air, ground, and surface targets. Strong features include supersonic cruising flight speed, internal weapons, radio-absorbing coating, and advanced on-board equipment. The fighter is equipped with an innovative complex of deeply integrated avionics, with a high degree of control automation and crew support, including piloting and weapons deployment coordination. The Su-57 can reach speeds up to 2600 km/h, and its maximum flight range is about 4300 km.
