Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeev, scientific director of the National Center for Physics and Mathematics (NCPM), said that in the future, in about 10 years, Russians may have digital twins — a kind of avatar. With the help of such twins, it will be possible to predict the occurrence of diseases and plan measures to minimize risks.
In ten years, subject to the development of computing technologies, we will be able to see a digital twin of a person that will give us useful results, which will advise what measures to take under certain influences so that the biological clocks of all our organs run synchronously.
Ultimately, the goal of the NCPM project is to create a new healthcare model based on disease prevention. This will provide an individual approach to the patient, predict the development of diseases and prevent them.
It is assumed that digital twins of individual organs will begin to appear first, after which they will be combined into a single system. Based on the entered basic parameters of the human body, the computing system will calculate how the body will age or react to certain factors.
In parallel, the NCPM is implementing a project to create a human health profile — a biological clock of a full life cycle. To implement the project, a working group has been created, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. A pilot project to create a healthy person profile is planned to be implemented in one of the closed cities of Rosatom.
