Rostec announced that the first import-substituted sample of Russian medium-haul airliner SJ-100 successfully completed test runs with detachment of the front landing gear from the runway.
The take-off with a front pillar detachment is an important stage in preparing for flight tests. It allows the crew to practice the take-off procedure and the process of its interruption at the same time. Also, the SJ-100 successfully completed tests on the "shimmy": when landing, the tire of the rolling wheel starts to experience lateral forces from the ground, which can lead to vibrations that may cause loss of control and even destruction of the pole. To combat this phenomenon, the aircraft's chassis are equipped with special dampers. During field tests, it was checked that the SJ-100 landing gear effectively copes with the "shimmy" effect.
The next stage of the SJ-100 tests will be the first test flight - it will take place in September.
