At the International Railway Salon of Technology and Equipment in St. Petersburg, Transmashholding presented a new electric train - the EP2DM commuter train. It has many new features.
The electric train is suitable for both high and low railway platforms. From the outside, the new train can be distinguished by a thin, bright yellow stripe that runs along the entire train. The EP2DM is 99% composed of Russian components and develops a speed of up to 120 km/h.
The new model differs from the EP2D model in more comfortable passenger seats, light lines, USB connectors for charging smartphones and tablets, and new information displays. A barrier-free environment has been created in the head cars of the EP2DM, and the steps in the area of the external doors extend automatically.
