Russia creates a "tissue gun" for wound healing

It heals wounds with a biopolymer gel

The "Era" military innovation technopolis has developed a gun that is designed not to wound, but, on the contrary, to heal wounds. The full name of the development is the "Tissue Gun" manual autonomous complex.

The device is equipped with an ultrasonic spraying system that focuses the jet at one point. Thanks to this, the applied gel hardens on the outside, but remains liquid on the inside.

The "tissue gun" has a huge advantage over traditional treatments, as it helps to heal wounds much faster.

There are no more details about the development, but something very similar was created this year at the Scientific and Educational Center for Biomedical Engineering of NUST MISIS. This device is also positioned as a solution for providing first aid in military field conditions and in the emergency zone.

The principle of operation of the "tissue gun" developed by NUST MISIS is to apply a two-component hydrogel with painkillers, hemostatic, antibacterial and other substances to the wound. When crosslinked, the bioactive material creates a film on the wound, preventing additional bacterial infection and creating favorable conditions for accelerated wound healing. This development has already been tested in vivo at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology.
