A helicopter landed at Vostochny Airport slightly earlier

Preparations are underway at the Vostochny Cosmodrome to launch the airport. Today, the runway was tested by a special Tu-134 flight from the Cosmonaut Training Center.

The plane was piloted by an experienced TsPK crew led by the commander of the joint aviation unit, Vadim Yunders. At the same time, the crew practiced one of the exercises to prepare for approach and landing at an airfield with limited use of radio navigation aids for approach. After a short stop and preparation for a repeat flight, the plane departed for the city of Blagoveshchensk airport.

Last month, the Vostochny airport complex received its first aircraft. It was a helicopter on which a special reconnaissance commission flew over the territories to determine landing sites for the reusable first stage of the promising Amur rocket.

Currently, the construction of the second stage facilities, including the airport complex, is underway at Vostochny. In April 2023, it was planned to increase the length of the runway from three to four kilometers.
