Russian anti-fragmentation blanket "Aegis" tested with grenades and bullets. It turned out to be quite effective

In the experiment, the blanket stopped more than 85% of grenade fragments

"Kalashnikov" reported on tests of the Russian invention – the "Aegis" anti-fragmentation blanket. The tests were carried out at the TsNIITOCHMASH training ground, a serial sample of the blanket was tested for resistance to the detonation of F-1 and RGN grenades from a distance of 3 and 5 m (the initial velocity of the fragments can exceed 700 m/s).

It turned out that the blanket is quite effective: it stopped more than 85% of the fragments that hit it. And the fragments that pierced the blanket did not pose a threat to life, as they lost their damaging ability.

But the tests did not end there: with the help of the Stechkin pistol, the "Aegis" was tested for bullet resistance: no penetrations were recorded from a distance of 5 meters.

"Kalashnikov" notes that such an anti-fragmentation blanket is already being mass-produced and is in demand among both large customers and private buyers.
