Roscosmos announced that a mockup of the RD-0169A rocket engine will be shown at the Army-2023 forum, which starts on August 14 in Kubinka near Moscow. It is planned to be used in the future Russian reusable Amur rocket.
It is assumed that five such engines will be used on the first stage of the rocket. The RD-0169A engine, created at KBKhA, is made according to a scheme with afterburning of oxidative generator gas, has a thrust of 100 tons near the Earth, and a multiplicity of use of up to ten times.
The Russian space agency reported that work on the new engine has reached the stage of manufacturing the first prototype: the production of components and assemblies is being carried out in the workshops, after which the first engine will be assembled for ground-based autonomous tests.
