The 'Yars' complex will replace the well-known 'Topol' systems

At the 'Army-2023' forum in Moscow, the launch system of the Russian strategic missile complex with a solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile 'Yars' will be demonstrated for the first time.

For the first time on the open site of the Patriot congress and exhibition center, a wide range of armaments, military and special equipment of the Strategic Missile Forces will be presented. Considering the numerous appeals and wishes of regular visitors of the forum and veterans of the missile forces, together with the traditional starting battery of the mobile missile system 'Topol', the autonomous launch system and the combat duty support vehicle of the mobile missile system 'Yars' will be shown for the first time. This exposition will become a symbol of the rearmament of the mobile grouping of the Strategic Missile Forces.

Commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel-General Sergey Karakayev

By the end of the year, the newest 'Yars' systems will replace the current 'Topol' type systems in service with the Strategic Missile Forces.

Also, according to Sergey Karakayev, at 'Army-2023' they will show the booster unit of the intercontinental ballistic missile 'Avangard'. The basis of the 'Avangard' complex is a hypersonic guided warhead, launched to the target using an intercontinental ballistic missile UR-100N UTTKh/RS-28. According to the creators, the hypersonic block can develop a speed of up to 28 Mach (about 9.5 kilometers per second).
