Analysts at Autostat have improved the forecast for the growth of the Russian market for new cars - in the optimistic scenario, the figure of 1 million cars now appears. This is 60% more than in 2022.
At the same time, the basic scenario does not differ much - 930 thousand cars. And even with an unfavorable scenario, 840 thousand new cars will be sold in Russia by the end of the year - 34% more than in 2022.
Analysts note the negative factors affecting the market - an increase in the recycling fee from August 1, a shortage of auto components and a decrease in the ruble exchange rate. Experts believe that the cost of new cars will continue to grow, which, of course, will affect the industry.
According to Autostat, 497.2 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia in 7 months of 2023 - 28% more than in January - July 2022.
