The newspaper "Red Star" reported on the upcoming modernization of the Russian BMP-3 - the vehicle will receive a new fire control system and improved protection against drones and missiles.
The new fire control system will have automatic target detection and selection. It will also be able to give recommendations on the choice of ammunition type and warn of the presence of tank dangerous areas. The process of fire correction will also be simplified. The new defence measures will make the vehicle less vulnerable to strike drones and American anti-tank guided missiles Javelin.
The BMP-3 has been improved several times. In the current version, the machine has a complex of external protection, consisting of screen grids and armor plates. Earlier, the BMP-3 received an improved ammunition feed mechanism in the gun, and new fragmentary high-explosive ammunition with a maximum range of 7 kilometers were included in the ammunition load.
