The first satellite of the new Russian "Marathon-IoT" constellation will be sent into orbit before the end of 2023

In total, the constellation should include 264 spacecraft

Evgeny Nesterov, General Director of JSC "Information Satellite Systems" named after Academician M.F. Reshetnev", announced that the launch of the first Russian satellite of the new "Marathon-IoT" constellation will take place before the end of this year.

The completion of the manufacturing and testing of the spacecraft, and then sending it to the launch site, is planned in accordance with the program - at the end of the fourth quarter of 2023.

The head of ISS Reshetnev also reported on the stage of work on the spacecraft.

To date, the manufacturing of the components of the "Marathon" demonstration satellite is being completed. Processes for debugging the interaction of onboard equipment are being deployed, and software is being developed.
