Evgeny Nesterov, general director of JSC "Information Satellite Systems" named after academician M.F. Reshetnev, announced that the launch of the first Russian satellite of the new group "Marathon-IoT" will take place before the end of this year.
The completion of the manufacture and testing of the spacecraft, and then sending it to the launch site is planned in accordance with the program - at the end of the fourth quarter of 2023.
The head of ISS Reshetnev also reported on which stage the work on the spacecraft is at.
Today, the manufacture of the components of the Marathon demonstrator satellite is being completed. Processes for debugging the interaction of onboard equipment are being deployed, software is being developed.
The "Marathon-IoT" constellation will include 264 satellites, each device weighs 50-75 kg.
