We are currently working on the development of a new platform for passenger electric trains. Previously, they were developed anew from scratch every time, but we set ourselves a task - to create a platform solution, that can be implemented either as an electric train, or as a diesel train, or as a diesel-electric train. We are developing a new platform with new dimensions. It will include the push-pull technology, which was never used in Russia before.
The head of «Transmashholding» added that the «push-pull» technology will be implemented in suburban trains, but they may also appear in long-distance trains. The top manager also added that the platform solution will allow creating trains as a constructor.
That's the convenience. We will be able to modify and change the composition according to the specific customer conditions without additional development. Global companies have traditionally developed a product that could then be customized for any country's tender. Hence, of course, our logic with the new platform. In Russia, it used to be different: the plant did not participate in international tenders, but participated in a specific RZD or metro tender, and each time a new electric train or metro carriages were made.
