Ships of the Russian Navy received a new air defense tool which is much more effective than its predecessors. Called advanced anti-aircraft missile and artillery system - "Pantsir-ME".

"Pantsir-ME" is supposed to replace the "Kashtan" and "Kashtan-M" systems. Compared to the latter, the destructive potential of "Pantsir-ME" is 3-4 times higher. The new complex provides protection against various types of existing and potential future airborne attack means. Moreover, it can hit surface and coastal targets.

"Pantsir-ME" can be installed on Russian ships with displacement from 500 tons. It can also be installed on ships of other countries. "Pantsir-ME" can fire at four attacking objects, providing a strike zone up to 20 kilometers in range and up to 15 km in height.
