In Petersburg, the passenger steamboat "Chaika-LPG" of the 03622 project, whose engines run on liquefied natural gas, went out to the Neva. This is a pleasure and excursion boat designed by the "Zelenodolsk Design Bureau", and built at the shipyard named after A.M. Gorky (part of the "Ak Bars" shipbuilding corporation).
The length of "Chaika-LPG" is 58.8 m, width - 10.8 m. The steamboat is designed for 170 people, it has the largest open deck area among all civilian fleet on the Neva - 350 sq.m.
The steamboat is equipped with two gas piston reverse-reduction units with a power of 258 kW/2000 rpm, two gas piston power stations with a power of 90 kW, a cryogenic on-board gas fuel system. The cryogenic unit is mounted in the stern part, it holds 16 cubic meters of LPG.
"Industrial components KamAZ", "KamAZ Weichai", "Raritek Engineering" and NPC "Lenpromavtomatica" took part in the creation of the units. The allowance of travel of "Chaika" on one refueling reaches 400 km.
The cost of such a steamboat should be 300-350 million rubles in serial production. Such "Chaikas" may also appear in the Samara region, where they will replace the old passenger steamboats "Om" and "Moscow".
