The passenger ship "Chaika-SPG" of project 03622, whose engines run on liquefied natural gas, has entered the Neva River in St. Petersburg. This excursion boat was designed at the Zelenodolsk Design Bureau and built at the A.M. Gorky Plant (part of the Ak Bars shipbuilding corporation).
The "Chaika-SPG" is 58.8 m long and 10.8 m wide. The ship is designed for 170 people, and it has the largest open deck area among the entire civilian fleet on the Neva River - 350 sq.m.
The ship is equipped with two gas piston reverse reduction units with a capacity of 258 kW/2000 rpm, two gas piston power plants with a capacity of 90 kW each, and a cryogenic on-board gas fuel system. The cryogenic unit is installed in the stern and has a capacity of 16 cubic meters of LNG.
"Promyshlennye komponenty KamAZ", "KamAZ Weichai", "Raritek Engineering" and NPK "Lenpromavtomatika" participated in the creation of the units. The "Chaika's" range on one refueling reaches 400 km.
The cost of such a ship should be 300-350 million rubles in mass production. Such "Seagulls" may also appear in the Samara region, where they will replace the old passenger ships "Om" and "Moskva".
