As reported by the "Russian Newspaper", the interdepartmental commission approved the working design documentation for the standardized handheld smoke grenade RDG-U O1. This means that the new grenade can be launched into production.
The body diameter of RDG-U O1 is 54 mm, length - 200 mm, weight - 700 grams. Unlike previous smoke grenades, this one differs in instantaneous distribution of a large number of burning pyro elements, which increases the density of smoke screen, and continuous refueling with aerosol flow increases the duration of masking. Also, the RDG-U O1 provides masking in the infrared range by creating thermal zones with high temperature.
