The head of NTC “IT ROSA” Oleg Karpitsky told RBC that later this autumn his company is planning to release the first smartphone on the operating system Rosa Mobile. It is assumed that the device interface will be similar to the iOS and Android interface (even promising support for Android applications), and the price of the device will not exceed the mark of 40 thousand rubles.
We strived to integrate the best experience of Android and iOS users into our system, so that those accustomed to these operating systems would not have to relearn.
The head of NTC “IT ROSA” said that the company's engineers had developed all the engineering solutions. For example, they completely rewrote the drivers for device components - Wi-Fi module, camera, and others.
The design of Rosa Mobile is developed jointly with the Russian IT company 65apps, which collaborates with the Central Bank, “Yandex” and “Magnit”. The operating system will have its own app store, and the release of the first batch of smartphones will be handled by the Zelenograd company “Rutek”.
When creating Rosa Mobile, Android components were not used, which should protect from possible disconnection and hidden functions from Google, but we have made it possible to run a number of Android applications on it
NTC “IT ROSA” believes that the smartphone will be of interest to state customers and corporate clients. Now the OS is undergoing preparatory work for certification in the FSTEC.
