Kyodo News agency reported today that Isuzu Motors has decided to completely withdraw from the Russian market. The company had been operating in our country for over 15 years: the assembly of Isuzu trucks began in 2006 at a plant in the Ulyanovsk region. In 2021, 3.7 thousand vehicles were produced, and it was planned to increase production to 5 thousand cars per year. However, in March 2022, against the backdrop of Ukrainian events, the company's operations ceased.
Isuzu Motors transferred all shares of its enterprise to its Russian partner, Sollers. All 200 employees of the enterprise also transferred to Sollers.
Against the backdrop of the fact that almost all foreign manufacturers (with the exception of Chinese ones) have left Russia, the news that BMW will remain in the country looks interesting. However, the German company will not supply cars to the country, but will work on a spare parts warehouse.
As No Limits managed to find out, the Russian representative office of the BMW concern (BMW Russland Trading LLC) made registration changes to its constituent documents. Since the beginning of July 2023, the company has added the OKVED code "Warehousing and storage activities" to the list of main activities. Previously, the Russian office of BMW reported that it had established the supply of part of the range of branded spare parts, as well as the warranty service of Russian customers for auto parts in full. Now BMW has settled this issue in the legal field, because without the corresponding type of activity in the charter, numerous warehouse shipments could raise questions from the tax inspectorate.
