The agency Kyodo reported today that Isuzu Motors has decided to completely leave the Russian market. The company has been operating in our country for more than 15 years: in 2006, the assembly of Isuzu trucks began at a plant in the Ulyanovsk region. In 2021, 3.7 thousand cars were produced, plans were made to increase production to 5 thousand cars a year. But in March 2022, against the backdrop of Ukrainian events, the company's activities ceased.
Isuzu Motors transferred all shares of its enterprise to its Russian partner - "Sollers". Also, only 200 employees of the enterprise went over to "Sollers".
Against the backdrop of almost all foreign manufacturers (with exception of the Chinese) leaving Russia, the news that BMW will remain in the country looks interesting. However, the German company will not deliver cars to the country, but will operate a spare parts warehouse.
As No Limits found out, the Russian representation of the BMW Group (LLC "BMW Rusland Trading") has made registration changes in its founding documents. Since the beginning of July 2023 the company has added the OKVED code "Storage and warehousing activities" to the list of main types of activity. The Russian office of BMW previously announced that it had set up the supply of some spare parts, as well as warranty service for Russian clients for spare parts in full volume. Now BMW has settled this issue legally, because without the corresponding type of activity in the charter, numerous warehouse shipments could raise questions from the tax inspection.
