Pavel Yakovlev, General Director of the Ural Automobile Plant, announced that the company plans to start mass production of vehicles for Arctic conditions at the end of 2025.
The goal is to start mass production of the "Arctic" family of vehicles at the end of 2025. The family includes three vehicles: a vehicle with a separate cab and a separate van body, a monocoque [bus] that is presented here, a semi-trailer truck, and a monocoque semi-trailer. This line should be fully developed and certified by the beginning of 2026. And in the monocoque, testing and certification should be completed by the end of next year.
He added that the plant will be able to produce up to 350 Arctic vehicles per year, and various departments, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Transport of Russia, have shown interest in the vehicles.
Viktor Yakovlev, the administrator of the "Arctic Bus" project, spoke about the features of this machine. Thus, the car, which is more than 4 m high, has almost 2-meter wheels with low-pressure tires, double glazing, heated mirrors, USB-charging in the cabin, wireless charging (!), and duplicated heating and air conditioning systems.
