The private Russian company SR Space has planned the launch of its rocket for the end of the current year. "A payload in the form of a signal transmitter will be deployed", - the company said. This will be the first launch of a private suborbital rocket in Russian history.
The carrier rocket will go beyond the Karman line (height more than 100 km). Upon reaching its destination, it will send a signal to Earth, which will be received by drones. "This is necessary for practicing interaction with unmanned aerial systems, testing remote control technology and swarm flight in automatic mode", - SR Space explained. The length of the rocket will be 5.17 m, diameter - 0.45 m, weight - 253 kg.
"We've had to speed up and transform our business lately, so we're moving to commercial launches a year earlier than planned due to rapidly growing demand for space launch", - said Oleg Mansurov, director of SR Space.
