AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov spoke about the company's export ambitions. In particular, he said that in 2023 it is planned to supply 10-15 thousand cars outside of Russia, and in 2024 – up to 50 thousand cars.
«We are just starting to ramp up our export programs. And they will largely depend on the readiness of our partners at the level of state regulation. We have assembly plants in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, they are ready to launch, but it is necessary to take certain state measures on technical regulation there. If these measures are taken, the figure may increase, but for now it is within ten thousand, but we expect that if such decisions are taken in the near future, it may increase by 50%», Maxim Sokolov said and added that the plan for the next 2024 is «about 50 thousand [cars]».
At the beginning of 2023, AvtoVAZ spoke about plans to export 30,000 cars this year. Thus, the plan has been reduced by 2-3 times.
