Russia is among the world leaders in the construction of nuclear reactors. This is reported by Nikkei, citing data from the Japan Atomic Energy Information Center.
Currently, 110 third-generation nuclear reactors (with enhanced safety measures) are under construction or planned worldwide. Of these, 46 reactors are in China and 30 in Russia. Together, they account for 69% of the global market. At the same time, Russia has the largest number of reactors being built outside the country - 19. Among the most well-known successful projects implemented by Russia are the Akkuyu NPP in Turkey and the El Dabaa NPP in Egypt.
At the same time, in the US, Europe and Japan, after the accident at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant in Japan, the construction of new reactors was postponed, and the sphere itself ceased to develop.
