At the moment, 110 third-generation nuclear reactors (with enhanced safety measures) are being built or designed worldwide. 46 of them are in China, 30 in Russia. Together they make up 69% of the world market. Russia has the largest number of reactors being built outside the country - 19. Among the most well-known successful projects implemented by Russia are Akkuyu NPP in Turkey and El-Dabaa NPP in Egypt.

However, in the USA, Europe and Japan, following the accident at the Fukushima-1 NPP in Japan, the construction of new reactors was postponed, and the industry itself stopped developing.
