In the St. Petersburg State Electrotechnical University LETI, a laboratory has been established, in which the development of innovative materials for advanced communication systems and radars based on ultra-high frequencies will be conducted.

"In our laboratory, a full technological cycle will be provided for the creation of new microwave devices based on film and bulk composites - from the search and study of the structure of prospective materials to their synthesis and implementation of specific devices that we will bring to our industrial partners", said the head of the laboratory, Professor of the Department of Physical Electronics and Technology LETI Andrei Tumarkin.

In the laboratory, specialists will study prospective oxide materials in two main directions: films, which serve as the basis for miniature microwave components (capacitors, filters, phase shifters), and also bulk composite materials (ferroelectrics, mixed with special glass).

The laboratory is equipped with installations for applying thin dielectric coatings and metallic contacts, equipment for photolithography and ion etching, as well as an atomic force microscope.
