The General Director of Russian Railways, Oleg Belozerov, announced that the company is ready to build a high-speed railway line (HSR). There are currently no such roads in Russia, and the first section will be the section between Moscow and St. Petersburg. The first train for the HSR will appear in 2027, although it was previously planned to appear in 2026.
«We are currently building a high-speed train. And on behalf of the president, we plan that in 2027 we will have a next-generation high-speed train», – said Oleg Belozerov.
Russian Railways is developing a high-speed train in conjunction with the company «Sinara — transport machines». It is assumed that it will be able to reach speeds of up to 400 km/h, and the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg will be covered in just 2 hours and 15 minutes. At the moment, there is only a design of the future train and a detailed plan for further stages of its creation.
