As reported by the resource Lada.online quoting Avtograd News, AutoVAZ probably assembled the first example of the Lada Vesta NG with a 6-speed gearbox.
"Three white Vesta NG cars came off the VAZ assembly line in a "station wagon" body. On the windshield of two, it is written "Vesta Sport project", there are holes in the sills under the plastic lining. The accompanying card indicates the 21179 engine", wrote Avtograd News, and added that on the windshield of the third car with a 1.8 liter engine there was a mark "Vesta 6 MT".
One of the sources close to the factory said that these three cars were assembled as part of the new projects of Lada Vesta NG, including the 6-speed manual transmission.
There were rumors back in 2020 that Vesta would get a 6-speed manual transmission. It was said to be paired with a 1.3-liter turbocharged Renault engine. In April 2021, new rumors surfaced that they are attributing Vesta a 6-speed manual shift with a modified 1.8-liter engine. Now, with Renault leaving the country, a 1.8-liter engine is the only option for a 6-speed manual shift and it is the most obvious set of units for the AutoVAZ flagship. But we probably should not expect the appearance of a 6-speed manual at Vesta in the near future, this year.
