Stanislav Kudzha, Rector of RTU MIREA, wrote a letter (available to TASS) to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, in which he asked to introduce mandatory labeling of content created using neural networks, and to prepare a program to protect critical infrastructure from possible cyberattacks using neural networks.
«RTU MIREA proposes to establish mandatory labeling of content created using "neural network" technology with a special graphic sign within the framework of the federal project "Artificial Intelligence" of the national program "Digital Economy", and to provide for the development of a corresponding decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, to prepare and approve a program to protect critical infrastructure from possible cyberattacks using neural networks», — the letter says.
The letter from the Rector of RTU MIREA states that the university surveyed experts and found that they put the possible increase in cybercrime in the first place in the ranking of neural network dangers: the widespread use of neural networks, even for entertainment purposes, poses a danger to the safety of users' personal data.
«It is obvious that without the introduction of additional control measures over the development of artificial intelligence, neural networks will be able to crack the protection of computer programs much more effectively than people in the next few years, including in areas that are critical to the economy», — wrote the Rector of RTU MIREA. The reaction of the Ministry of Digital Development to this letter is not yet known.
