Rector of RTU MIREA Stanislav Kudzh wrote a letter (available to TASS) to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadaev, in which he asked to introduce mandatory labeling of content created using neural networks, and prepare a program to protect critically important infrastructure from possible cyber attacks using neural networks.
"RTU MIREA proposes to establish mandatory labeling of content created using the "neural network" technology with a special graphic sign within the framework of the federal project "Artificial Intelligence" of the national program "Digital Economy" and to provide for the development of a corresponding government decree of the Russian Federation, to prepare and approve a program to protect critically important infrastructure from possible cyber attacks using neural networks", - the letter says.
In the Rector's letter, it is said that the university polled experts and found out that they place the possible growth of cybercrime first in the ranking of dangers of neural networks: widespread use of neural networks even for entertainment purposes poses a threat to the preservation of users' personal data.
"Obviously, without the introduction of additional measures to control the development of artificial intelligence, neural networks in the next few years will be able to hack the protection of computer programs much more effectively than people, including in sectors critically important for the economy", - wrote the Rector of RTU MIREA. The reaction of the Ministry of Digital Development to this letter is not known yet.
