A TASS source in the defense industry spoke about the refinement of old (still Soviet) FAB-250 bombs. According to reports, they were turned into high-precision munitions due to the navigation system.
"As part of the refinement of the FAB-250 aerial bomb, it was installed on winged platforms and equipped with an inertial navigation system. At a separation speed from the aircraft of 800-900 km/h, the bomb plans to a range of up to 80 km", the source said. He added that the modified guided aerial bombs are used with Su-34 multi-role bombers.
The name of the bomb encodes its mass – 250 kg. This munition, equipped with a high-explosive warhead, was used in a number of different conflicts in Asia and Africa.
