VimpelCom (operating under the Beeline brand) has sold its business in Kazakhstan to VEON Holding, its parent company. The deal amounted to 54 billion rubles. According to Interfax, these funds were credited as repayment of the parent company's loans to the operator.
VimpelCom's IFRS report, published on April 28, 2023, states that the operator's subsidiary, VEON Eurasia S.a r.l, transferred 75% of the shares of VIP Kazakhstan Holding AG to the Dutch company VEON Holdings B.V. in December 2022 in exchange for a reward of 54 billion rubles.
As a reminder, last March, VimpelCom sold its assets in Kyrgyzstan to its parent company for 1.4 billion rubles, and earlier, Uzbek assets were also transferred to the Dutch holding.
