«VimpelCom» (operates under the «Beeline» brand) sold its business in Kazakhstan to the VEON holding – its parent company. The cost of the deal amounted to 54 billion rubles. As noted by «Interfax», these funds were counted as repayment of the debt on loans from the parent company to the operator.
In the financial statements of «VimpelCom» in accordance with IFRS, published on April 28 2023, it is mentioned that the operator's «daughter» – VEON Eurasia S.a r.l – in December 2022 transferred to the Dutch company VEON Holdings B.V. 75% of shares in VIP Kazakhstan Holding AG in exchange for a reward of 54 billion rubles.
Recall that in March last year «VimpelCom» sold its parent company assets in Kyrgyzstan for 1.4 billion rubles, and earlier the Uzbek assets were also transferred to the Dutch holding.
