The Economy Times, citing its sources, reported, Russia and India are discussing the possibility of using the national Indian payment system RuPay and the Russian payment system "Mir" in mutual settlements.
According to the publication, this issue is under consideration by the Internal Government Commission on Trade and Economic, Scientific and Technical, and Cultural Cooperation. The Commission is also considering the possibility of using the Bank of Russia's financial messaging system for cross-border payments.
RuPay is India's national payment system, its name is an acronym from the words rupee and payment.
