The Steel Research Institute (part of the Kalashnikov concern) has launched mass production of anti-fragmentation blankets for the protection of places with mass gatherings of people.
"The blanket's lightweight and sufficient size allows it to be used for the protection of people in houses, cars, and individually, when a person enters a combat zone. The blanket stops up to 90% of fragments formed when mines, shells, and homemade explosive devices are detonated", said at Kalashnikov. They added that the first batch will be shipped in mid-May.
