Today, AvtoVAZ announced the start of sales of the Lada Granta with a 16-valve engine. The most affordable version of the 'Granta' with such an engine is priced at 865.5 thousand rubles. That’s the price for a sedan in the Comfort configuration with two safety airbags, heated front seats, air conditioning, and an audio system.
The 16-valve engine is slightly more powerful than the 8-valve engine—its power is 106 and 90hp respectively. According to AvtoVAZ, the Granta sedan in a mixed cycle with the old new engine consumes 6.5 liters of gasoline per 100 km. It is expected that in May this engine will also appear under the hood of the Vesta, but it is still unclear whether the sales of 16-valve 'Vestas' will start at the same time.
